It was an accident!

This is my cute little 5 year old.

A while back we were all hanging out in the living room when I heard, "Sorry mom, it was an accident." That's when you KNOW its something bad. So I turned around and saw this:

Wax! Not just wax, but RED wax! I managed to stay surprisingly calm. We had had an incident with a crayon in the dryer a month before, so I already had some advice from my mom on how to get it out. She suggested cloth and a warm iron. I never actually tried it on the laundry because it seemed hopeless (it was a load of whites and a green crayon). But since we couldn't just throw out a section of carpet, this time is was worth a shot.

I had some scrap cloth (from the ruined load of laundry mentioned above) that I laid over the wax and then used an iron on a warm setting (not too hot). I gently pressed for a few seconds down the entire spill and then lifted the cloth. Wax came up with it. I was amazed! I also used paper towels because I was curious if they would actually work, and they did. Just as well as the cloth. I did this around 12 times, and this was the result:
Had the wax been white you probably wouldn't be able to see it anymore, but I think this looks pretty amazing. I never even remember that its there.

Hopefully this doesn't happen to you, but if it does...this method is tried and true!

LOVE

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today was Addie's co-op preschool Valentine's party. The kids had so much fun! We're lucky to have such fun creative friends!

Their favorite part was exchanging Valentine's. When I was little I always thought it was super lame when people gave non candy treats on Valentine's and Halloween. Well guess what...now I get it!
For their Valentine's, Jack gave stickers (that we found at Walmart in the after Christmas clearance sale!) with a tag that says "I'm stuck on you!"
And Addie gave bubbles with a tag that says "I am bubbling over with excitement that you are my friend"

If you know ANYTHING about Eric (my husband), you know he is a Ron Paul supporter. So, we gave him a card that said "We made a donation to the Ron Paul money BOMB in your name" with a sucker we turned into a bomb. He thought it was pretty great!
We got the idea from here. and it looks kind of like this:
I hope you all have a fabulous Valentine's Day! I'd love to hear what fun things you all did, tell me about it in the comments!

Oh, hello there...

Let me introduce myself...my name is SARAH.

I am a stay at home mom with 3 kids. Jack is 5, Addie is 3, and Ellie is 1.
I live in a small town in Wyoming, and as much as I miss normal restaurants and shopping, I really do love it here. One day I wouldn't mind living in a city a little bit bigger than this one, but I love the pace of small town life. I also love all the small town parades and carnivals!

None of my kids are in school yet. Jack will start Kindergarten this fall. I'm kind of freaking out about it, but that's a story for another day. So for now, we fill our days with play groups, princess dress up, trains, and books!

10 Random things about me:
1. I'm the middle child of 7 kids. I like to think I don't suffer from the middle child syndrome though!
2. I like to read, but neglect almost everything in life until I'm done. So, I don't read very often!
3. I love to crochet and knit.
4. I love to craft, but mostly crafts I copy from other people. (Thank you Pinterest!)
5. I am the least stylish person I know. Seriously...I have to ask my husband if my outfit matches!
6. I'm cheap (or frugal, whatever floats your boat).
7. I love a clean house, but don't always have one.
8. I love music, and dancing and singing (in the privacy of my own home).
9. I love chick flicks, especially ones made for TV.
10. 'Special Drinks' are my absolute favorite! (you know, like Non Alcoholic Pina Colada)
